Определен предварительный список номинантов на получение престижной музыкальной премии Shortlist Music Prize - аналога британской Mercury Music Prize. Этой премией отмечаются наиболее творческие и перспективные альбомы, выпущенные в прошлом году. Напомним, имена претендентов определяют музыканты, уже добившиеся определенных успехов. В этом году в числе судей были Фли из Red Hot Chili Peppers, Крис Мартин из Coldplay, Том Уэйтс, Перри Фаррелл и другие.

«Лонг-лист этого года состоит из артистов с пяти континентов и из 13 стран, чья музыка находится в самом широком спектре жанров от рока и хип-хопа до фолка и электроники, - рассказывает один из основателей премии Грегг Споттс. - И каждый альбом отобран каким-то известным музыкантом или просто авторитетным в области музыки человеком».

Десятка финалистов будет оглашена в сентябре, а третья ежегодная церемония награждения победителей Shortlist Music Prize, которая будет сопровождаться концертом, состоится 16 октября в Лос-Анджелесе.
